A moment to hold onto

There are a few times in our lives that we just can not let go of, no matter how old we grew, they are just immortal, these moments belong to us, whenever we feel like going back, there they are in our minds, we close our eyes, and for a second, we get a glimpse of that memory, at first it seems like a vivid picture, then we begin reliving its intensity, its purity, its tranquility, our mind chooses to create the ultimate version of it, a fantasy, as i would like to call it, an escape so we can runaway to everytime we felt weak or distorted by overwhelming emotions that sometimes take over us.
One of these moments I have been recalling lately is actually a certain day in the week I used to share with my dear friend, saturdays...
Back in college days, saturday was a very special day,It was like a ritual, the alarm clock set on 8am, knowing that it took me an hour exactly to get everything done, and so when Im all dressed up fresh and ready to go, I would hear my friends ring tone on my mobile, I never answered, knowing that she would already be waiting for me in the car, so without any time wasted, I rush down the stairs to greet her so we can get moving, we were always excited , we drove to this one place, and after we had eaten breakfast, we talk and talk for hours, not any shallow conversations, they were deep heart to heart ones. Afterwards we would go to my place and sit on the balcony and enjoy ourselves with a nice cup of coffee, even if it grows quiet for a few minutes, it always felt so liberating, because we always knew what to say and when to say it.
There are so many memories to remember, especially if they are cofounded with the ones you hold dear to your heart. Blows us away the idea of how much we can take in sometimes, but it is true, the mind is much more complex than we thought, it is said that today is a gift, that why its called the present, it is also because we can always create moments that live forever after, only if we cherish it with our special ones...

The Chimp Paradox

Lots of books attract us by their looks, either by the title, or by the writer, or even by the colors that are integrated into the cover, but few are those that touch a deeper side of us, overlooking the boundaries that have been set by our shallow senses...
One of those days, I went for a book hunt, but I was not going to settle down for a novel. Lets say I was looking for a book that was going to change my life, or at least an aspect of it. I admit it, I fell for so many books at first site, but soon changed my mind once I had opened them.
By accident I seemed to have knocked one of them down, It fell open, my eyes were just stuck on a bold title that said THE GUIDING MOON, I closed the book, and found the main title that said THE CHIMP PARADOX, and a parallel title that said, the mind management programme for confidence, success and happiness, I wanted to make sure I was getting the real deal, so I read a little in it, that was a keeper, so I was not hesitant to purchase it.
Well, I read it and liked every chapter of it, the author is Dr Steve Peters, such a brilliant person, he happens to be a consultant psychiatrist who specializes in optimizing the functioning of the mind. This book is without a doubt one of my favorites, Its pages are just filled with valuable information, interesting facts , and most importantly makes sense in every meaning of the word!
Long story short, all of us have a chimp that thinks parallel to our mind, and our inner chimp can be our best friend or our worst enemy.
The chimp paradox is an incredibly powerful mind management model that can help you become aware of your thinking, so you can easily sort things out, and prevent any mess from happening. Dr Steve Peters explains the struggle that takes place within your mind and then shows how to apply this understanding to every area of your life, and hopefully you can: recognize how your mind is functioning, how to manage your emotions and thoughts, and finally how to choose the aspect you would like to see life from to become the person you would like to be.
I hope you go buy the book, and enjoy it as much as I did.

The magnificent color purple

The word 'purple' comes from the Old English word purpul which derives from the Latin purpura. The most famous purple dye in the ancient world was Tyrian purple, made from a type of sea snail called the murex, found around the Mediterranean.

Purple, unlike violet, is not one of the colors of the visible spectrum. It was not one of the colors of the rainbow identified by Isaac Newton, and it does not have its own wavelength of light. For this reason it is called a non-spectral color. It exists in culture and art, but not, in the same way that violet does, in optics. It is simply a combination, in various proportions, of two primary colors, red and blue.

For those who do not know; purple is the color most often associated with the artificial and the unconventional. It is the major color that occurs the least frequently in nature, and was the first color to be synthesized. Han purple; was the first synthetic purple pigment, invented in China in about 700 B.C.

This color embodies a sense of balance, It is another shade of blue, maybe even a calmer version of red, an overlap of two vibrant worlds intertwined intelligently to form another, an illusion that has been born to deceive the eye into a whole new depth, thats why its my favorite.
